Grand Mesa Scenic and Historic Byway: This 63-mile National Scenic Byway explores the largest flattop mountain in the world, the Grand Mesa. Known as a playground in the sky, the Grand Mesa boasts hundreds of lakes, sweeping swaths of wildflower meadows, and old-growth evergreen forests. Pop over to the Lands End Overlook, site of a now defunct observatory, for unbeatable Grand Valley and Book Cliffs views.
