When people who are unfamiliar with New England think of Connecticut, they often envision the ultra-wealthy coastline with its multimilliondollar mansions and upscale boutiques. But just north of the dazzling seashore, you'll find scenic beauty and a ton of history that make Litchfield County the perfect place to spend some time. Litchfield County is home to more than 20 uniquely charming towns, and within many of them are several informal villages. The largest town by area, New Milford, serves as a gateway to the beautiful countryside communities of the Litchfield Hills.
