IT’S A LOVELY feeling when cardboard boxes arrive, containing bubble-wrapped bits and pieces that could make a good bike even better. Sometimes the warm glow is soon cooled by the realisation that some complicated or time-consuming work will be involved, but not today - quite the opposite, in fact. The instructions that came with the various parts for our V9 Bobber were a model of multilingual (but picture-led) clarity. I knew exactly which components were meant to be in the package, what tools I’d require, what torque settings to use and what order to do it all in. First the screen. Couldn’t be simpler. Undo the indicators, attach brackets, tighten the indicators, attach screen to bracket. Boom. Ditto the rider and pillion footrests. Remove rubbers (but leave the guts of the footpegs…
