AFTER THREE DAYS taking in every kind of road and riding, all three of us reach the same simple, certain conclusion: the Africa Twin is the best bike here. On motorways it’s the most comfortable, the most protective and has the most roll-on drive. On twisty back roads it steers more confidently and more neutrally than the BMW, and has more ground clearance than the Triumph. And if you spot a gravel trail and fancy exploring where it leads, once again it’s the Africa Twin that makes life easiest, whether you have the Dakar skills of Marc Coma or Mark Thatcher.
