The Bell in Ticehurst, EAST SUSSEX

Situated in the old East Sussex village of Ticehurst, The Bell is welcoming to all, but the curious decor appeals to more eclectic tastes. Guests can hunker down in one of the seven rooms in the main inn, or the oast house-style lodges in the garden are particularly cute, like something from Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree. The pub’s eccentric interior includes top hat lamps, giant stacks of books, eagle cuckoo clocks and neon signs. The Colombian chef brings brilliant South American flavours to the gastropub menu. And the choice of dishes changes with the seasons and availability of locally sourced fresh ingredients.
