When Ben Miller was filming Bridgerton last year, there was a moment when he wondered whether he’d made a mistake by saying yes to the role of Lord Archibald Featherington. ‘I did doubt whether I’d made the right decision when I was sitting in yet another scene, peering over the top of a newspaper, without anything to say,’ he laughs.
As the patriarch of the Featherington family, Miller’s role is an inconspicuous one at first; he seems as much a part of the background as the patterned wallpaper.
