I had just collected two huge carnival horse from Exeter which were destined for my new space at Sparks Bristol (the department store with a difference), when the clutch went on my van. We did make it back to Bristol and to my embarrassment the only thing wrong with the van was it needed clutch fluid. The shame and relief I felt at this discovery were equal in measure. So with the horses ready to bring back to life, I set about peeling off years of bird droppings and started the massive job of painting.
