Like many restorers, I started out at art college which gave me a good understanding of colour. At the same time, I developed an obsession for restoring old motorbikes – the rustier the better. When I met my future wife Mandy there wasn't time for both, so we focused on each other and work. Over the years we ran Smithy Reclamation in Oswestry, and also a furniture restoration business both in the UK and France. The idea for Stove Hunters started way back when we lived in France and used to buy the odd stove to sell on eBay. We came back from France in 2012 and properly launched the business.
