Who: Joby Carter (jobycarter.com), a traditional signwriter and former proprietor of Carters Steam Fair. Treasure: A pair of salvaged fairground signs, believed to date from the 1920s or 1930s. They may have come from a dodgem or speedway ride. Discovered: They actually belong to my father-in-law, but I've convinced him I need to have them on display! Price: They were acquired decades ago as part of a vanload of salvaged fairground items for £1,000. These days, signs like these fetch significantly higher prices. Use: Currently on the wall of my workshop in Somerset, so everyone who attends my signwriting courses can see them.…
