How did your upcycling journey begin? My mum is very arty and crafty, so I was always doing creative projects when I was growing up, but my upcycling adventure began in 2015 when I was living in a boring little flat after I'd left home. I was given a load of furniture, none of which went together. The walls were all magnolia and I wasn't allowed to redecorate, so I started to paint the furniture to brighten the place up. My first project was a pair of bedside tables which I found for £30 in a British Heart Foundation charity shop. They were shiny, orange pine but I sanded them back and painted them bright blue.
