Perfectly imperfect

Not drawn to any particular era but appreciating well-designed pieces imbued with a sense of charm, Tim recalls his early memories of discovering vintage and antiques. ‘As a kid, I used to love going to my nana’s house – it was an Aladdin’s cave of old stuff, from 1920s costume jewellery to chintz curtains. I found it fascinating.’ Living a stone’s throw away from the Malvern Flea & Collector’s Fair, the UK’s largest flea market, Tim embraces the philosophy that revamping a whole room doesn’t have to mean buying everything new. ‘I believe that signs of age can add to a piece’s appeal, and it will probably be cheaper too,’ he adds.
