In this modern age readers speak to me, ring me up, message me, email me, and Facebook me all the time. It is brilliant because they are keeping me up to date with their varied and particular passions. I always feel that reader interventions stop me being local, petty, and insular. Often readers will infect me with their own enthusiasms, which is truly fab. However, recently I have noticed that one repeated strand keeps on coming through: a desire to get back to traditional building. A desire to be a bit more personally creative and become less of a consumer. I reckon that born again builders are enthusiastically buying short kits / boxed kits /plan designs and CNC cut kits with a vengeance. They also appear to be buying wood…
