To be fair, those who attended the J Perkins weekend fly-in at BMFA Buckminster on the 1st and 2nd June, weren’t totally sure what to expect, for this was the first time that both the BMFA and a major UK distributor had collaborated in such a way. That said, with the promise of ‘off the peg’ flying – give or take a few demonstration sorties – a chance to view chosen air and surface products from JP’s extensive portfolio, and the option of taking in a few Futaba technical workshops along the way, it wasn’t a massive gamble. Especially given the BMFA’s beautifully manicured flying site, well-appointed National Centre and, most importantly, well stocked hot and cold eatery.
