WESTERN Henbury: Revised plans for the new single-platform Bristol station were submitted to South Gloucestershire Council in mid-September, after last year’s application was turned down. The platforms will be able to accommodate five-car trains. Okehampton: Site clearance is due to start for the construction of the new £13.5 million Okehampton Parkway station, which has an opening date of February 2026. Track design work has been completed, and a 200-space car park is being mapped out. Swindon: The Mechanics’ Institution Trust, which wants to renovate the derelict former GWR training centre, has been rebranded as Swindon Heritage Preservation to expand its scope for conserving four old buildings in the Railway Village, as well as the works area.
