Haymarket ‘Whistler’ from Bachmann

The popular Bachmann Class 40 has undergone some important upgrading including electronics and additional tooling for 2023. BR blue No. 40063 is thoroughly examined to test the improvements applied to the model.

Consequently, it was with anticipation that the new Bachmann model of No. 40063 was unboxed to see what had been improved. A very well presented representation of the class in BR blue livery with an excellent level of finish and detail was revealed. The bonnet fronts are applied as separate toolings to the otherwise one-piece bodyshell. They are neatly attached and have all the features of the small batch of modified Scottish Class 40s during their allocation to Haymarket during the 1970s.
