Nearly 91,000 journeys have been recorded in Thanet Parkway station’s first year of operation, with the 100,000th customer expected this month.
Since it opened on July 31 2023, daily services have increased from 51 to 80, with both high-speed trains to London St Pancras and main line trains serving other London stations as well as other destinations in Kent such as Canterbury, Ashford and Ramsgate.
As the service improved, the number of customers has increased from just over 6,000 last summer to an average of 8,500 in recent months.
The neighbouring stations at Ramsgate and Minster have also seen an 11% increase in customer journeys over the past year.…
