Kate Henderson was well versed in designing and making quilts from 2½in strips when she took on this project for Quilters Companion, as she had just finished her second book on quilts made from 2½in strips, called Striking Strip Quilts. You can read more about the book on page 116.

Finished size: 168cm x 142cm (66in x 56in) Finished block size: 14in x 4in Materials One Jelly Roll or 40 strips, 2½in x width of fabric 2.4m (2 5/8yd) white fabric 60cm ( 5/8yd) dark grey print fabric (binding) 3.2m (3½yd) backing fabric Batting at least 175cm x 160cm (72in x 62in) Rotary cutter, quilter’s ruler and mat Sewing machine with ¼in foot General sewing supplies Cut the fabric From the 2½in strips of assorted print fabrics, cut: • a total of 217 rectangles, 4½in x 2½in (D). Kate cut five or six rectangles from each strip From the white fabric, cut: • 11 strips, 2½in x width of fabric.
