Love is in the air!

“I am totally in love with this quilt—Sushi Date! This quilt is inspired by my time living in Kyoto, Japan for a year with my husband, Joel. If we had a little extra cash, we would treat ourselves to a sushi date at our local conveyer belt sushi restaurant, otherwise known as “Kaiten Sushi.” We would indulge in traditional Japanese sushi—no fuss…no sauces—just good quality, simple ingredients. made this quilt with fabrics bought in Kyoto, Japan, as well as random assorted ‘sushi’ colored scraps from my stash. For the border, I used assorted Japanese fabric squares from my collection. The alternate blocks were made with my Kyoto, Japan, fabric that features small squares with Japanese symbolism, cuisine, and Mt.
