The Transparent Quilts of Wally Dion

Wally Dion’s transparent quilts online recently and reached out to him to find out more about his practice. Wally lives and works in Binghamton, New York. He moved there in 2014 to live with his wife who he met in 2011 at the Rhode Island School of Design. Wally is from Saskatoon, which is the largest city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Much of his work is inspired by that location, the Indigenous peoples and the plains. Wally’s quilts are made from various transparent fabrics, acrylic rods and copper pipe and they exceed 2m x 3m in size. QC It seems that you use a variety of media — can you tell us what they are?
