Poppies in Tuscany

Patty was fortunate enough to spend time in Italy celebrating myriad family milestones. She originally planned to make this quilt in a different colour story but returned from her trip inspired by all the yellow, gold and orange poppies! They were everywhere! All the yellow and gold fabrics play together nicely, and the orange stars give this quilt a nice pop!

Finished size: 218cm (86in) square Finished block size: 9in square, 4½in square and 4½in x 9in Materials • 3.2m (3¾yd) white print fabric• Assorted orange print fabrics to total about 40cm (½yd)• Assorted yellow print fabrics to total about 5.6m (6¼yd)• 70cm (¾yd) orange print fabric (binding)• 7.3m (8yd) backing fabric• Batting at least 240cm (94in) square• Template plastic and fine permanent-marking pen• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat• Sewing machine with ¼in foot• General sewing supplies Cutting 1 Trace the diamond template for this project from the Pattern Sheet on to template plastic with a fine-point permanent-marking pen.
