Simple machine piecing with a small amount of foundation paper construction and lots of bright summery colours.

Finished Size: 152cm x 178cm (60in x 70in) Materials • 25cm (¼yd) each of 11 assorted print fabrics• 20cm (¼yd) each of 14 assorted coloured 8mm-wide ricrac• 50cm (⅝yd) each of five assorted white tone-on-tone fabrics (2.5m/3⅛yd in total)• 50cm (⅝yd) white multi spot fabric (binding)• 4m (4⅜yd) backing fabric• Batting at least 170cm x 200cm (70in x 80in)• Rotary cutter, ruler and mat• General sewing supplies• Sewing machine with ¼in foot Cutting and preparation 1 Cut and sort the fabrics into groups for each row of blocks. From 10 of the assorted print fabrics, cut: one rectangle, 6½in x 4½in (ice blocks) From one of the assorted fabrics, cut: 10 rectangles, 1in x 3in fabric (ice block sticks).
