Each of the 12in blocks in this quilt designed by Anne Sommerlad of Bullaburra, NSW, is composed of two contrasting reproduction prints and a background fabric. It is a great project to use up fabrics from your stash and it is also fat-quarter friendly.

Finished size: 208cm x 178cm (82in x 70in) Finished block size: 12in square Materials 10cm (!/8yd) each of 30 different light print fabrics (block backgrounds) 15cm (!/8yd) each of 30 different medium value and 30 different dark value print fabrics (blocks) 1.7m (1&/8yd) mid brown print fabric (Borders 1 and 3 and binding) 35cm (#/8yd) light brown print fabric (Border 2) 4.6m (5yd) backing fabric Batting at least 230cm x 200cm (90in x 78in) Rotary cutter, ruler and mat Sewing machine with !/4in foot General sewing supplies www.quilterscompanion.wordpress.com Cut the fabric 1 Make templates for the B and G shapes printed on the Pattern Sheet, referring to Basics on page 142. 2 To make one block, choose one light, one medium and one dark print fabric.
