Mixed results on remix album from ambient techno astronauts and Floyd guitarist. The Orb’s Alex Paterson might have consistently dropped Pink Floyd’s name in interviews for two decades, but a 2010 collaboration with David Gilmour still felt like a massive coup when it occurred. Gilmour agreed to turn up at producer Youth’s studio in Wandsworth, south London armed with a Stratocaster and the same EMS synthesiser Floyd used on The Dark Side Of The Moon. For the next five hours, Gilmour would ping perfect guitar line after perfect guitar line in his inimitable, languid style, all captured on tape by Youth.
