Cosmic oddballs revel in eclectic dreams.
This Norwegian duo have been cheerfully trampling boundaries since 2015. Their first album, Ultrasound, casually predicted today’s synth-obsessed zeitgeist. Their second, Colours Out Of Space, injected Lovecraftian dread into its of surreal, instrumental dreamscapes.
For those craving the familiar, Hypnagogia will be even less appealing than its predecessors, but for fans of Faust-like experimental fervour, the sharp-elbowed, esoteric sprawl of Thanatosis fits the bill with a swagger. Eight minutes of shimmering cosmic rock, treacly sax and stuttering, Neu!- like beats, it brings to mind everything and nothing.
