Two albums released at once by the Liverpudlian masters of melody. Arriving with two albums on the same day, The Coral’s purple patch shows no signs of slowing down. And given that the motivation for their strong work ethic was to record the last album at Liverpool’s now-defunct Parr Street Studios, respect is due as much for grace under pressure as it is for the quality of the material. Holy Joe’s Coral Island Medicine Show picks up where 2021’s Coral Island left off. The presentation is that of a radio show, with The Great Muriarty – that’ll be frontman James Skelly’s grandad – linking the music.
