Given that the dominant characteristic of Jethro Tull for the last 56 years has been shaped and sustained by Ian Anderson’s musical vision, the need for a solo career always seemed moot. While that’s especially true of his later works, where Anderson the solo artist and Jethro Tull are indistinguishable, that’s not quite the case when looking at his earlier solo albums.
