Initially known from her work with Brendan Perry as vocalist-musician-songwriter with shape-shifting gothic group Dead Can Dance in the 80s and 90s, Lisa Gerrard is now a prominent composer, vocal arranger and soundtrack artist, with an impressive catalogue of albums and scores built since her 1995 solo record, The Mirror Pool, accompanied by the Victorian Philharmonic Orchestra. Gerrard’s most visible mark was made with Hans Zimmer on the score for the 2000 historical epic, Gladiator, but her three-octave glossolalia technique has been heard with collaborators such as Orbital, Ennio Morricone and The Mystery Of The Bulgarian Voices.
