UNQUESTIONABLY PROGRESSIVE BUT impossible to categorise, High Castle Teleorkestra have released one of the most berserk albums of 2022. The esoteric brainchild of Tim Smolens, former leader of genre-mashing cult crew Estradasphere, and guitarist Chris Bogen, The Egg That Never Opened is the perfect record for those who enjoy as many genres as possible, and preferably all at the same time. A restless and eccentric blur of mad ideas and eclectic instrumentation, it’s also an elaborate concept album based on a Philip K Dick novel.
