GALA: We went to Warners and realised we could do it for Dad’s 80th, creating the best package we could. Guy told me Steven Wilson really loved the album, and that he should have a go at remixing it. Steven believed it could be improved. We love it – he brought out the layering of the keyboards. WILSON: If you’d listened to it casually at the time, you’d have dismissed it as the indulgence of a man on his yacht in Greece. Removed from all that, it sounds like a beautiful entry in the Floyd story. You hear how much of the Floyd DNA came from Rick; those slightly jazzy overtones that were even a part of albums like Animals. You hear a lot of that Wish You Were Here…
