The Sky’s The Limit

Fresh from their successful recent shows with Big Big Train, Norwegian art-rockers Dim Gray are ready to share their captivating music with the rest of the world. Prog catches up with Håkon Høiberg, Oskar Holldorff and Tom Ian Klungland to discuss their melodic second album Firmament, the joy of meeting their heroes, and the excitement of finally playing outside their home country.

Despite what the old cliché suggests, there’s an awful lot to be said for meeting your heroes. After introducing themselves to the world with their glacially beautiful debut Flown, written during the lockdown of 2020, recorded in remote isolation, and released digitally and independently, Norwegian art-rock trio Dim Gray impressed Big Big Train enough to find themselves on the road throughout Europe in support of the international collective, learning the ropes, getting a feel for the whole tour machine, and serving an apprenticeship that has set them on the path to explore and ensnare their own grand ambitions.
