“WE DON’T HAVE lyrics, but we still have songs,” says D_Drive guitarist Seiji of his band’s mantra. “Each member is an expressive person, so we always play with the same emotion that a singer would.” For Seiji, guitar playing is an all-consuming love affair born from teenage lust and threaded right through his life and career. “I came across an acoustic folk guitar in junior high school when I was 13, which made me crazy for the guitar,” he remembers. “There were no instructors in our town so I had to teach myself. Six months later, I played in front of an audience for the first time: That was the moment I knew that I wanted to be an artist.” Fittingly, Seiji then became a guitar instructor to help others…
