Previously unreleased album from 2009 by the late synth pioneer. Klaus Schulze died in 2022, and 101 Milky Way was discovered by his record label when they were going through his tape vaults. It had been commissioned as soundtrack music for Hacker, a film about computer hackers. And although only a fraction of it appears in the film as background music, Schulze had composed a suite of music for it, coming in at a shade under 80 minutes. “For those who enjoy the journey as much as the destination.” From the late 60s, influenced by Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix, Schulze was the drummer in Psy Free and played on the self-titled 1971 debut of Ash Ra Tempel, whom he’d described as “space rock”.
