Bristolian psych-folk trio explore burnout and recovery. Fans of Northumbrian folk sister-act The Unthanks will likely enjoy Hands Of The Heron, too. Like the Unthanks, HOTH’s Bec Garthwaite, Beth Roberts and Claire Vine share a near-telepathic gift for unaccompanied singing; half of Quiet Light’s stark, evocative songs are completely a cappella, their sometimes improvised vocal arrangements utilising tension, release and three-part harmonies.
