Stupid Says Run features contributions from her Kaprekar’s Constant bandmates.

Kaprekar’s Constant co-vocalist Dorie Jackson is set to return with her second solo album, Stupid Says Run, on January 17 via Talking Elephant Records. It arrives 17 years after the release of her solo debut, The Courting Ground. “That might sound as if it was terribly deliberate, but I don’t think it was,” says Jackson, chuckling at the gap between her releases. For her, The Courting Ground proved cathartic and the pursuit of other musical interests meant that her attention was focused anywhere but a solo release. “I think I got rid of my personal angst on the first record and I wasn’t really writing anymore,” she reflects. “I worked out that what I really enjoyed was arranging and organising other people’s songs.
