“I was playing with The Moody Blues and living in the Pitch Hill area of the Surrey Hills next door to Eric Clapton’s house at the time. I bumped into Bill at the local post office by chance one day as he lived nearby. We hadn’t played together since working on Chris Squire’s Fish Out Of Water. This was in 1983 and the Moodies tour that year had been postponed so I invited Bill to come over and do some playing.
