In April Pink Floyd released their first new song in 28 years. Hey Hey, Rise Up was created to support the Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Fund, and features vocals from Andriy Khlyvnyuk, singer/songwriter from Ukrainian band Boombox. This sign of solidarity from Floyd was a wonderful gesture, but the only true Floydians who appear on the track are David Gilmour and Nick Mason. The rest of the players are certainly fine musicians, but they are not what I would consider Pink Floyd members. Sure, ever since Mr Gilmour took over the band in 1987, there have been a host of guest musicians playing on Floyd recordings and backing the band in concert.
