The avant-garde rockers return with new album, Banefyre, and European tour.

International experimental rock collective Crippled Black Phoenix will release their 12th full-length album, Banefyre, on September 9 via Season Of Mist. The record arrives two years after its predecessor Ellengæst, and marks the debut of three new band members: guitarist and co-vocalist Joel Segerstedt, keys and trumpet player Helen Stanley, and additional guitarist Andy Taylor. “I like how Joel has come in and spoken for himself,” says band founder and multi-instrumentalist Justin Greaves. “He’s in the band for the right reasons. I see him the same way as Belinda [Kordic, the group’s long-serving vocalist and percussionist]. She took an interest in the whole artistic thing behind Crippled Black Phoenix, like the vocals, lyrics, artwork and aesthetic.
