Úath CURSED MONK RECORDS Debut from haunted folk duo with pronounced literary influences. Formed by Irish ambient/drone composer Ruairi O’Baoighill and Scottish haunted folk magus Grey Malkin, Úath bring a palpable unease to their carefully rendered, slowly evolving soundscapes. The sense that something wicked this way comes is near constant as soon as the tranquil bird song on opener The Awakening Of Pan fades, but most unnerving of all is The Fenstanton Witch, a nightmare-ish epic with traumatised witch voices seemingly inspired by MR James’ 1924 ghost story of the same name.
