Dalla Volta WELLS MUSIC Prolific Aussies overfill what could have been an excellent EP. Any artist releasing six albums in four years will inevitably struggle to keep up the quality and so it proves with Teramaze. Combining four new songs with demos and reworks of older songs – mostly from albums that pre-date the current era of the band – Dalla Volta feels like a bloated EP. Originally released on 1998’s Tears To Dust, Shadows tones down the metal for a richer, keyboard glittered sound, but otherwise mimics the original. Broken tenderises an already balladic track, stripping away its distorted guitars without filling the space, and their predictable take on Phil Collins and Philip Bailey’s 80s hit Easy Lover feels reductive.
