Leave The Ghost Behind CRISPIN GLOVER RECORDS Norwegian space rock of the heaviest stripe. Winters are long in Black Moon Circle’s hometown of Trondheim, and so, happily, are the songs. Four of the seven tracks on Leave The Ghost Behind exceed the 10-minute mark, with the longest clocking in at almost 23 minutes. Guitarist Vemund Engan, his brother Øyvin (bass/vocals), Scott Heller aka Dr Space (synth) and ex-Motorpsycho drummer Tomas Järmyr are black-clad, reassuringly hairy men whose commitment to bludgeoning, partjammed psych runs deep. That much is obvious on Snake Oil, as solidly built as the hefty wooden sculptures on their 10th album’s front cover.
