Electronic post-prog band North Atlantic Oscillation have released their first album in five years. Their fifth full-length record, United Wire is the belated follow-up to 2018’s Grind Show, and finds singer/mastermind Sam Healy processing the global turmoil of the last few years.
“I definitely needed some way of processing the chaos of the pandemic,” the Edinburgh-based Healy tells Prog. “It knocked me sideways. It was only after the uncertainty and pressure dissipated a bit that I was able to respond properly.”
Healy didn’t start working on the album properly until after restrictions lifted, but it was indirectly influenced by the events of the last three years. “I got really into reading about science and mathematics during that time,” he says. “Compared to the incomprehensible stuff on the news, mathematical equations…
