CLOSURE IN MOSCOW

It’s no shock that they prioritise it during their closing set at this year’s Subterranean Dissonance Fest. With plenty of back catalogue favourites also thrown into the mix – and a compelling opening performance from avant-garde metallers Kayo Dot – the Australian ensemble mesmerise the crowd with spectacular musicianship. Kayo Dot play for an hour and incorporate compositions from their latest LP (2021’s Moss Grew On The Swords And Plowshares Alike) alongside older pieces. For better or worse, most of the material sounds quite similar (chaotic guitar work and percussion around vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Toby Driver’s screams).
