VENUE ISLINGTON ASSEMBLY HALL, LONDON DATE 21/01/24 SUPPORT JOHN YOUNG John Young warms up the early birds by performing a handful of songs by his band Lifesigns, topped off by The Last One Home, a wonderful tune written with the late, great John Wetton during their pair’s spell with Qango. Alone on the stage save for his keyboard and a mic, everything else is sampled. John is a fine singer and an engaging frontperson, but in these circumstances it’s surreal to hear Dave Bainbridge peal out the impressive solo to Impossible when the guitarist himself is probably at home in Darlington, with feet up, watching The Traitors and eating a Pot Noodle (other savoury snacks are available).
