“The Moog synthesiser created a revolution,” says Albert Glinsky, whose book, Switched On: Bob Moog And The Synthesizer Revolution, stands as the definitive work on New York City native Robert Arthur Moog (1934–2005). It was Moog’s pioneering music technology that made Phaedra possible.
“Previously, the only people who could make electronic music were those with some engineering background, able to manipulate complex gear in radio stations or in university labs,” Glinsky explains. “The Moog allowed musicians to hear the results of the new sounds they were creating in real time, playing them from a keyboard.”
