“Think about it, what’s missing today?” asks Roine Stolt. The founder of The Flower Kings has an answer as simple as it is powerful, captured in the title of the group’s upcoming 17th album, Love. “You see all these terrible reports from Gaza, every day the insanity that’s happening in America – to cut it short, what’s lacking is love,” says Stolt. “Love for the planet, love for other people, love for other races.” The seed of inspiration was sown by a painting from the German artist Catrin Welz-Stein, whose work adorned the cover of The Flower Kings’ Live In Europe 2023 album.
