O.R.k might have two decorated veterans of the genre in their ranks, but ex-Porcupine Tree bassist Colin Edwin hasn’t considered them a prog band, until now. “We don’t usually go for long-form journeys,” he says. “But we decided to really give it a go this time!” Firehose Of Falsehoods, named after a propaganda term relating to the mass spreading of misinformation, is out March 21 via Kscope. It sees the band – completed by King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto and Italian guitarist/vocalist duo Carmelo Pipitone and LEF – “continuing the conversation” of 2022’s Screamnasium while moving into more expansive songwriting. “I think it’s a strong statement that’s going to bring the listener in,” Edwin continues. “Screamnasium had a lot of hope, now we’ve got the darkness back.
