Yes bassist’s prog supergroup serves up a new batch of original gems. Whether they’re dishing out original songs or reinventing rock staples from decades past, Billy Sherwood’s Prog Collective usually deliver great LPs. The same holds true for Seeking Peace, the project’s first assemblage of new material since 2013’s Epilogue. The interlocking vocals, breezy rhythms and colourful instrumentation of opener Electric World channel the synth-laden sleekness of 80s prog. It also sets up the playful vibe that Sherwood and company uphold during the remaining pieces, with In An Instant and the uplifting Finally Over serving as authentic throwbacks to the spirit and craftsmanship of the genre’s initial decade.
