The Torontonians return with new LP and Euro/UK tour.

Toronto psych-proggers Blood Ceremony are to release their first full-length album in seven years, and will tour the UK and Europe in May. The Old Ways Remain will come out on May 5 through Rise Above Records. It’s the quartet’s fifth album, and follows 2016’s Lord Of Misrule. The plan was to record at London’s Toe Rag Studios in 2021 but, ‘what with one thing and another’, they ended up laying it down at a local Toronto studio. The band (vocalist/flautist Alia O’Brien, guitarist Sean Kennedy, bassist Lucas Gadke and drummer Michael Carillo) produced The Old Ways Remain themselves along with friend Paul Keyahas, and recruited guest musicians including Laura Bates, fiddler for folk-doom crew, Völur. “The album is a continuation of our sound,” Kennedy says, “although with every album…
