Medievally fixated 70s prog-folkers’ tale told.
Amazing Blondel carved a niche in the early 70s counterculture with a brand of early music-influenced folk rock that was heavily populated with brave knights and fair maidens. Initially splitting in 1977, they’ve been performing in some form on and off since a 1997 reunion. Longtime fan Michael Billington has seemingly talked to all who were there, but pads out the tale with irrelevant lists (such as every later-notable actor that appeared in a Robin Hood TV series, which influenced the early Blondel) and reproducing archive interviews and reviews in full where judicious editing might have helped the narrative along.
