Nad Sylvan’s pre-Steve Hackett band worship at the altar of Genesis. From the tone of the guitars to the shimmer on the keyboards and the key changes, Unifaun sounded – to politely understate it – a lot like Genesis. That’s no secret, and singer Nad Sylvan, now an essential fixture in Steve Hackett’s touring band, wouldn’t deny it. They took their name from a line in Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, and Sylvan’s voice on this album is pretty much what would result if one asked artificial intelligence to offer a precise blend of Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins.
